A Great Year of Learning Spanish

The 2025–2026 academic year was an exciting and successful one for our Spanish students. We ran three lively group courses at different levels: Complete Beginners, Beginners and Intermediate. It was wonderful to see everyone grow in confidence, develop their language skills and enjoy learning Spanish together.

The good news is that the journey continues! In the autumn term of the 2026–2027 academic year, our students will move forward into intermediate-level classes, where they will continue to expand their vocabulary, improve their fluency and become increasingly confident speakers. Our upper-intermediate students also enjoyed combining language learning with literature. One of the highlights of the year was reading and discussing Recuérdame by Mario Escobar. The novel inspired many interesting conversations and gave students the opportunity to explore history, human experiences and emotions while developing their Spanish.

Although learning a language is often associated with a traditional classroom, most of our students chose to attend their lessons online—and they did so very successfully! The online sessions were interactive, friendly and full of conversation, proving that students can make excellent progress from the comfort of their own homes.

Current affairs and literature also played an important part in our lessons. Students shared opinions, debated ideas and explored different cultures through a wonderful selection of books, including Largo pétalo de mar and Inés del alma mía by Isabel Allende, as well as Un mundo para Julius by Alfredo Bryce Echenique.

It has been a year filled with learning, stimulating discussions, memorable stories and, above all, a shared enthusiasm for the Spanish language. We are very proud of everything our students have achieved and look forward to welcoming them back in the autumn for another enjoyable year of Spanish!
